Eagles Fall to Tigers, Greene Claims School Takedown Record

The Eagles wrestling team fell in their home opener to Warrensburg 53-19.

The high point of the dual started at the 126 pound bracket when senior Daylen Greene broke Andrew Martin’s school record of 262 career takedowns in 2018. Greene needed three takedowns to break the mark and got four in route to a second-round fall over Dayton Dunn.

In the 132 and 138 pound brackets, Kaleb Catron and Gerard Costa fell by pin.

After two Holden opens at 150 and 157, Trent Stout earned an 8-0 major decision over Trace Marr in the 165 pound weight class.

Junior Conner Carver followed with a fall over Bret Iiams in the 175lb class.

At 190 and 215, Warrensburg grapplers took advantage of Holden’s youth with pins over Hudson Gregg and Vince Vance.

Junior Aiden Christian earned a hard-fought 11-5 decision over Tatum Davis.

113 pound freshman, Payton Tye, fell to Kyle Menke. The last match of the dual was completed when Junior Graysen Thieman lost by technical fall to Jaylen Civil.
